Astronomy apps for stargazing,
sky weather & the eyepiece.
ApexSKY tells you what tonight looks like: stargazing weather, aurora and space weather, ISS passes, and deep-sky targets matched to your sky. ApexHUD runs the session at the eyepiece with a planetarium view and telescope tools. One free account keeps plans, logs, achievements, and membership in sync on the web and in the field.
Why get the apps
Built for real observing nights
We built Apex around how we actually run our own observatory at SkiesLIVE, not around a generic weather widget. The core apps are free and ad-free, and an optional membership adds deeper planning and alerts.
- Know before you go Tonight’s sky quality, cloud trends, moon phase, and light pollution for your site, so you don’t waste a clear night on the wrong target or drive out under clouds.
- Alerts that matter Aurora, geomagnetic activity, and satellite pass notifications for your saved locations. You only get a notification when conditions actually change.
- Plan it, observe it, log it Build a target list and session plan in ApexSKY, then hand off to ApexHUD at the telescope. Observation logs and favorites sync through your account.
- Best Targets, not random lists Hand-picked deep-sky suggestions for your latitude, season, and gear, including member favorites from the SkiesLIVE community.
- One account everywhere Sign in once on phone, tablet, or Windows. Preferences, achievements, support tickets, and membership follow you across Apex apps and apexastro.app.
- No ads in the core experience The stargazing essentials stay free. We’d rather you spend the night under stars than scrolling banners.
